Korea Eco-Label aims to mark products that either generate relatively less pollutants compared to similar products during the course of production and consumption, or that consume less resources. The Label provides consumers with accurate environmental information on products, and encourages businesses to develop and produce eco-friendly products that satisfy the preferences of consumers.
Green Certification aims to expand the participation of the private sector in green industries, and facilitate the rapid growth of green tech markets through financial and tax incentives.
New Excellent Technology certifies the excellence of new technologies developed by domestic enterprises, research institutions and universities, in order to facilitate commercialization and technology transactions and lay the foundation for early market entries with products that offer improved reliability, developed with new technologies.
- Energy Consumption Efficiency Grade mandates the labeling of energy consumption efficiency (Grade 1 through Grade 5) of products in order to help consumers easily identify and purchase high-efficiency products.
- Energy Consumption Efficiency Grade prohibits the production and sale of products that fail to satisfy the minimum energy efficiency requirements.
Healthy Building Material aims to facilitate the sustainable and balanced development of the air purification, indoor air quality management and indoor environment control industries, contributing to the preservation of the environment with improved air quality.
The Korea Air Cleaning Association has designated the standards for indoor air purifiers, and issued CA (Clean Air) certification for products that pass the strict performance tests based on the standards. CA aims to improve consumer awareness of indoor air purifiers and expand the market, while contributing to improved product quality and protecting consumers through voluntary quality management.
This government certification of recycled goods aims to guarantee the quality and eco-friendliness of the goods, improving consumer confidence and increasing demand.
Products that have passed all criteria related to energy consumption efficiency and quality tests conducted by High Efficiency Test Agency, and have been certified as High Energy Efficiency Equipment by Korea Energy Management Corporation.
- This is the energy efficient product certification program operated by European Energy Network and GEEA (Group for Energy Efficient Appliances), consisting of nine EU government organizations, and dedicated to saving standby energy.
- The label is applicable to a total of 15 items, including PCs, monitors, printers, facsimiles, copying machines, scanners, multi-purpose devices, TVs, video players, audio players and chargers. As of 2007, a total of 2,330 energy efficient products have been registered.
The standard is applicable to textile products, including fabrics, apparel, textile products for infants, textile flooring materials, fabric wallpaper, mattresses, linens, towels and beddings. In addition to hazards posed to human health, textile products are assessed for energy consumption, resources consumption, pollution load and workplace management in the production process.
