The 1stINDONESIA-KOREA SMEs Green Business Forum
ASEIC, the ASEM SMEs Eco-Innovation Center, with the support of Small & Medium Business Administration of Korea and KUKM, the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of Indonesia, held the very 1st“INDONESIA-KOREA SMEs Green Business Forum” on December 6, 2016 at Jakarta, Indonesia.
Organized by Green Business Center in order to expand the conception of eco-innovation to SMEs of both countries through sharing related information and policies, approximately 150 people attended this event, including Indonesian government officials, representatives of universities and research labs of Indonesia and Korean organizations in Indonesia as well.
Mr. Kyu-dae Lee, Chairman of ASEIC and INNOBIZ Association, announced the welcoming speech followed by the opening speech from Mr. Meliadi Sembiring, Deputy Minister of KUKM and the congratulatory remark by Mr. Jang-jean Kang, Representative of Indonesia-Korea Joint Secretariat for Economic Development.
Many experts gave presentations to boost enthusiastic discussions on policies of SMEs and green business of Korea and Indonesia.
The keynote speech was delivered by Mr. Hasan Jauhari, Senior Advisor to the Minister of KUKM, with the theme “Green Business of SMEs in Indonesia”. Also, Mr. Young-tae Seo, Director of Indonesia-Korea Joint Secretariat for Economic Development, presented the “Overview of Korean Environment Policies and Support for Eco Enterprises”.
There was four major speeches at the afternoon session.
Ms. Sri Wahyuni, Practitioner of Bio-energy of Women’s Foundation of Indonesia Innovation, on “Implementation of Green Economy Business”, Mr. Eun-woo Park, Senior Advisor of KUKM, on “Mutual Cooperation between Korea-Indonesia Enterprises through OVOP Program, Ms. Tuti Mintarsih, Director General of the Ministry of Environment of Indonesia, on ”Green Policies of Indonesia“ and finally Ms. Min-gyu Kim, Vice President of Korean Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, on ”Advancing the Status of Environmentally Friendly Enterprise in Indonesia“.
Along with the forum, a stage for SMEs to promote their products and activities. was settled. Mainly in the field of eco-innovation such as LED, solar energy, waste water treatment and recycling waste clothing and paper, 4 Korean companies and 5 Indonesian companies participated in this event.
