ASEIC’s first ever global forum on eco-innovation was successfully held on 18 November 2011 in Seoul with around 70 participants. Representatives from the Presidential Council on Green Growth, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MOFAT), European Commission, Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), embassies, and other related organizations and consulting firms gathered together to discuss the latest eco-innovation trends and practices. Specifically, the renowned scholars and speakers tackled the global perspective on eco-innovation, the practical application of eco-innovative technologies, and some case studies featuring successful SMEs. The Q&A sessions further enriched the discussion, covering a wide range of particular topics such as CO2 emission reduction targets in Europe, Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) in Britain, etc. ASEIC intends to further promote eco-innovation among SMEs as it emerges as a driving force to achieve sustainable development. |
